Innovative Express Care was among the first clinics in Chicago to offer antibody testing. We now have two antibody testing options. Please read the below carefully to understand which test is right for you.
Beckman Coulter IgG and IgM antibody test (available at 1111 W. Diversey only)
The Beckman Coulter IgG and IgM antibody test is believed to be the most accurate antibody test on the market right now. This test, which is FDA Emergency Usage Authorized, measures both IgG and IgM antibodies using the spike protein, which is a protein uniquely found in the COVID-19 virus. It demonstrates a high rate of accuracy (99.9% specificity and 98.3% sensitivity) and requires a blood draw to perform the test. Assure FaStep IgG/IgM (available in Downers Grove only)
The Assure FaStep IgG/IgM, which is FDA Emergency Usage Authorized, gives you a qualitative IgG and IgM antibody result in the blood and is performed with a simple finger prick. This test has a 98.8% sensitivity and 98.7% specificity for IgG and 93.7% sensitivity and 99.1% specificity for IgM.

COVID-19 Antibody Test FAQ
The Beckman Coulter antibody test looks for IgG and IgM antibodies in your blood. This test measures the antibodies using the spike protein, which is uniquely found in the COVID-19 virus. The test requires a simple blood draw and insurance is accepted. Results are available in 1-2 days.
The Assure FaStep IgG/IgM gives you a qualitative IgG and IgM antibody result in the blood and is performed with a simple finger prick.
Anyone who feels they may have had the COVID-19 virus may get the antibody test.
If you feel you may have had the COVID-19 virus, but are not sure, an antibody test will provide an answer. Antibody tests may also be used to determine if a positive test result was false in cases where a patient never had symptoms of the virus. Lastly, the antibody test can confirm vaccine antibodies. The risk of getting COVID-19 once you have developed antibodies is low. Knowing if antibodies are present in your blood will help you make informed decisions about how much socialization is safe to resume. The COVID-19 antibody test will also provide important data on the scale of coronavirus infections in our community.

Innovative Express Care charges your insurance for the visit. We submit a 99203 or 99213 code for your provider visit. The diagnosis code is Z03.818.
In Chicago, we will send your blood draw to the lab and the lab will bill your insurance.
In Downers Grove, we will also submit the code 86328 for your finger prick test.
Patients who are uninsured may receive care under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which provides COVID-19 care at no cost to the individual.
