Dr. Rahul Khare of Innovative Care outlines the telemedicine screening and testing at his facility on March 17th, 2020. He also provides updates about the overall state of the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Chicago, Illinois.
Stats:
Innovative Express Care has been screening and testing patients for six days.
We are using telemedicine to screen patients, as it is the safest way to see patients. This:
Limits exposures
Means NO time in a waiting room
Allows us to see more patients in need
Innovative Express Care has screened over 150 patients to date
Of those screened, 25 have needed a COVID-19 test
Of those tested, 4 have been positive for COVID-19 as of today
Here’s what I want you to know:
This is serious
It is spreading quickly
STAY ISOLATED
The COVID-19 situation is NOT overblown. It is crucial that you heed the warnings
This means:
No play dates
Don’t go anywhere that is not essential. Stay home.
Take a walk and enjoy the nice weather today, but do not go out in groups.
Use technology to stay in touch with others during this time.
We all must drastically modify our daily lives in order to curb this epidemic
If you are sick and worried about COVID-19:
If you are sick, especially if you have a fever, schedule a telemedicine appointment and we will help.
Do NOT walk-in to an urgent care or the ER, as you are only putting yourself and others at risk.
Innovative Express Care is doing online appointments more than 12 hours a day to screen patients and determine who requires a test.
