COVID Tests for Travel

The general rule for most destinations that require testing, is that you must show proof of a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of your trip. In some cases, a PCR test is specifically required, where other destinations may accept a rapid COVID test as proof. Be sure you know the specifics for your departure and destination city. In addition to city specific rules for domestic travel, the CDC is now requiring proof of a negative COVID test for all incoming flights to the United States from foreign countries.

Getting a negative test result can take several weeks after you have had COVID. If you were diagnosed with COVID in the last three months and need to travel, a note from a physician stating you are cleared for the trip may be needed.
